I'm ashamed...and other emotions that come with long absences.

So I fail at blogging apparently. But that's ok! because I highly doubt anyone is reading this.
I'm still having problems with fricking Ubuntu. I swear, programmers really need to think about what the computer actually can do before making a program. I'd get into the technical details, but I doubt anyone who stumbles across this derelict, slow moving section of cyber-space will care...ah what the hell, I'll tell you anyway. So I'm getting GRUB error 18. After much painful google searching, I manage to find the reason. My hard drive is too big. Now gather around children and let me tell you a story.

A long, long time ago, back in the lat 90's, computers were just starting to pass the 8.45 GB limit. And the brilliant programmers had used a system that could only see up to 8.45. So, startled by computers *gasp* advancing, they made a new system for hard drives up to 33.8 GB. And guess what happened. So, they made a NEW system, for hard drives up to 137 GB. My computer came with an 80 GB hard drive, which is rather small (my iPod is the same size). So, I eventually managed to get a 500 GB external hard drive, which meant I had all the space I would ever need (until I get a new computer at least). By the time I decided to try out Ubuntu, there was roughly 12 GB left on my C drive. So I install Ubuntu on my external, still at this time blissfully unaware of error 18 and everything that came with it. What I'm almost certain happened was that I managed to install Ubuntu right up to and over that 137 GB limit, so the BIOS can read MOST of the files, but not all of them. That would explain why I can't get my wireless internet, which even if I didn't have the keys for is so crappily encrypted a 5 year old randomly bashing the keyboard could hack it, to work.

Wasn't that a FUN story. And I really hope that that's is the actual problem, otherwise I'll feel like a real douche looking back at this... :D

Anyway, time to get back to math and not post again for another few months. Have fun!

Ode to the New Facebook

I hate the new facebook. Apparently I'm not the only one:

Why such a change
my dear old friend?
Looks rather strange,
and
quite offends.

Those errors prove
there's much amiss
Too rash a move,
pal -
look at this!

My page won't load,
the links won't click.
Brain might
explode;
I might be sick.

Your facelift, dear,
reveals just flaws
I still can hear
the
dropping jaws.

"Where's my straightforward
clean fresh face?
My life's now
poured
all o'er the place!

"Across the pages
here I stumble,
Takes AGES
sifting through
this jumble.

"And do recall
I did protest...
Oh, blast it all,
it's such a
mess!

Untimely was
your big debut -
It's sad because
they prob'ly
knew.

Your makers lied -
claimed you a blessing.
You should have
died
in beta testing.

I love people.

I think I started something...and Other Rambling Ons

So now one of my friends is starting up a blog as well. And I seem to have the best and worse luck in the same day possible. My girlfriend had to cancel on me to have a doctors appointment, and I found out I got the easiest job possible where I'm volunteering. One of these is good, one bad.
My school has apparently decided that this month, and the first half of next month, are going to be absolutely full of tiny small events, all of which need tech crew. Which means I have to make sure everything is running smoothly, for a ton of events, while at the same time getting ready for holidays, AND doing school work. Am I missing something there...or right, a life. Ah well, who needs one of those! *twitch*.
On the bright side, at least I have my games. Ah Steam, how awesome...wait, login. Ok, thats wierd, but I can do that.
What do you mean thats not my password? I use that password for everything gaming! ...probably shouldn't do that...
OK, lets just go to retrieve account...what email did I use for this???????
*digs through old emails*
AH! Here's the activation code! Now to reset my password and settle back into some nice TF2.
What...didn't work...
*200 tries later*
Wow...this went well.

Ranting is fun. But I have to go. I still have homework to do.

First Post!

So here I am, sitting down to right my first blag post. I've always liked blagging, but there was facebook, so I was content and didn't start a blag. Then along came the new facebook, which preceded to drive me temporarily insane. I found out that during my insanity I had sworn never to use facebook again.
Now I probably should tell you what you'll most likely see me blagging about. Absolutely anything. I'm Canadian, so there might be some Canadian stuff...I like computers, there will be some of that for sure, and I love webcomics! So there may occasionally be a comic put up for our shared amusement, mine for thinking I'm funny, and yours at my horrible humour.
Too all my friends who come here from fartbook, feel free to use the comment boxes as a subsitute wall. And bookmark me. I mean it. I know where you live V.
One last comment. My sign-off name, it does mean something. Those who know it, will enjoy it, everyone else, have fun trying to figure it out.

Ciao
